March 21, 2017

Max is in Washington to celebrate National Ag Day.

The Ag Day observance includes need to improve nation's infrastructure, as Trump has promised. Not just highways, rivers, railroads and ports. Also needs to include the internet. Need to improve so machines can communicate too. The American Society of Civil Engineers says it will cost $4.5 trillion to nation's infrastructure.

Farm bill summit yesterday included Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson. He's concerned about ag economy. Afraid one bad crop away from problem. Wants to see Conservation Reserve Program restored. Right now, there is a cap of 24 million acres. Peterson says he's trying for cap of 40 million acres. Says there are acres that shouldn't be in there and are acres being farmed that should be in CRP.
