No one should be surprised to hear of the Sears bankruptcy filing. 

Police in Detroit continue to investigate a recently closed funeral home after the discovery of infant bodies in the building.

Cotton, peanuts, poultry, peppers and tomatoes and other crops were hit hard by hurricane Michael last week.

Old train stations and depots have been saved in a few places across the heartland. Some have become museums, others have found new life in another role.
