4 advocates share their stories through blogs, videos & overcoming adversity

I’m always on the lookout for great blogs, videos and beef content to share with BEEF Daily readers. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s a call to action, and other times, it’s just for fun. Today, I’ve rounded up four great blogs, videos and stories from agricultural advocates that will brighten your Thursday morning. Be sure to share today’s blog post on social media, so our consumers can enjoy these fun posts as well.

1. Farmer Derek does the Whip Nae Nae

Brand new this week, Derek Klingenberg created a video around the popular song, “Whip Nae Nae.” Klingenberg has an entire YouTube channel dedicated to fun agricultural videos, including one where he calls cattle by using his trombone. Check out his most recent video here for a good laugh.

2. “Foggy gathering” by Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman

One of my favorite bloggers is Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman. Drummond writes from her Oklahoma cattle ranch on everything from home schooling, cooking beef, gardening, to home improvement projects. Of course, she includes lots of photos of her ranching family working cattle, too. Check out her most recent post about rounding up cattle on a foggy summer morning.

3. “Shipping cattle in the Flint Hills of Kansas” by Wyatt Bechtel for Beef Today

Here’s another great blog with plenty of photos that features rounding up stocker cattle on a family ranch in Kansas. Readers get a bird’s eye view of a working cattle ranch.

The fourth item isn’t a blog or video, but instead the story of a 4-H kid named Layton who has difficulty walking and is taking the show ring by storm by showing his lambs alongside his wheelchair. His story is inspirational and has been shared countless times this week. You can follow Layton’s story and send him some kind words by checking out his Facebook page here.

Do you have an inspirational story or a funny event from your life? Share it with your fellow readers in the comments section below and more importantly, share it with the world on social media.
