Beef Checkoff Hosting Twitter Party Tonight!

The easiest way to connect with our consumers is to get online and join the conversations happening every day on social media. Instead of being reactive and waiting for negative articles to bombard the beef industry, cattlemen and women are getting proactive and controlling the dialogue with positive messages.

Tonight, at 7 p.m. CST, it’s all about beef. Hosts @MomDot and @BeefPros are hosting a Twitter party on the topic of “Back-to-School.” Use the hashtag #WithBeef to participate. Funded by the beef checkoff program, participants can win steaks for four, a beef bundle of burgers and hot dogs, and a Visa Gift Card for beef.

Meanwhile on Instagram, there is a fun contest underway that will run until Aug. 31. It’s a #BeefSelfie photo contest. To enter, follow @BeefPros on Instagram. Then, take a “selfie” of you eating and enjoying beef. Tag that photo with the hashtag #BeefSelfie to be entered to win a $50 Visa Gift Card to buy beef.

The National Beef Ambassadors will be participating and leading these contests, so follow their example and help drum up some buzz surrounding the hashtags #beefselfie and #withbeef.

In the meantime, have you checked out our #felfie (farmer selfie) photo gallery? Here is a compilation of 180+ felfies for your viewing pleasure. Which one is your favorite?

Will you be participating in tonight’s Twitter party? I can’t wait to view all of the photos and tweets!
