Part 1
Mike Pearson kicks off the show talking about crop protection and the regulatory environment around them. Mike talks to Dr. Rebecca Larson, Western Sugar Cooperative, to discuss her recent testimony to the House Ag Committee on the matter. In the markets segment Dan Huber, Huber Report, talks about the USDA WASDE report who is cautiously optimistic after a long spate of negative news.
Part 2
Dan Huber, Huber Report, rejoins Mike to continue discussing reasons for optimism. Following that, Greg Soulje is on for this week’s weather forecast.
Part 3
Next, Mike talks cattle markets with Dr. Derrell Peel of Oklahoma State University who is checking on the supply and demand at feeder cattle auctions and beyond.
Part 4
Mike talks with Heather Buechter, Clean Fuels Alliance America, who talks about their partnership with PepsiCo. They’ll be exhibiting at the upcoming Farm Progress Show, August 27-29 in Boone, Iowa.
Part 5
Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje returns to take a look at the long-range weather picture. In the Farm Progress roundup segment, Mike chats with Shelley Huguley, Editor, Southwest Farm Press, about the Peanut Efficiency Awards in Savannah, GA.
Part 6
In Max’s Tractor Shed, Max shows off a John Deere 4430, owned by Haden Hughes’ Great Grandfather. In the FFA Chapter Tribute segment, Mike talks with Payton Ryba, Kansas State FFA Vice President. She didn’t grow up on a farm, but she joined in middle school and rose through the ranks to be a statewide leader in in the Sunflower State. Her first time leaving the Midwest and riding a plane, was to head to D.C. and meet with legislators. In the Colby Ag Tech segment, Chad Colby is looking at cleaning products for your equipment.
Part 7
Max is back at Steiner Tractor Parts, to talk to their Patti Pierce, about some of the more obscure parts they’ve been asked to find for customers.
