Feeder cattle and slaughter cows hit summer slump

Audio-Feeder cattle and slaughter cows hit summer slump

While volume might be seeing a normal seasonal decline, prices have firmed up.

Feeder cattle numbers were dropping lower which is normal this time of the year. Prices have been improving the last six weeks and were steady to $3 higher this week.

Slaughter cow numbers continue to drop lower, which is also normal during the summer. Prices were $1-3 higher with those smaller numbers at the auctions.
