Feeder cattle movement ahead of schedule in 2018

Feeder cattle receipts at the test auctions totaled 24,500 head which was 1,000 lower than last week but 5,000 higher than last year. Prices were mostly steady to a little lower; there was some improvement on the 700 lbs. heifers that saw a big drop last week.

Slaughter cow receipts at the test auctions dropped after last week's big price declines but slaughter cow prices improved and regained most of what they lost last week.
