Feeder cattle prices drop after more cattle come to town

More feeder cattle meant declining prices, losing all of what the feeder cattle market gained last week.

Last week's feeder cattle price increases brought more feeders to auctions this week with a larger run of 36,600 head at the test auctions. However prices turned around and dropped $1-5, losing all of what it gained last week.

The slaughter cow numbers are continuing the normal seasonal declines now. The prices were mostly steady, but slightly lower on lean type of cows at some test auctions and no doubt influenced by weakening 90% trimming prices.
