Feeder cattle numbers at the test auctions were 42,400 head which was about 4,000 higher than last week and prices were mostly either side of steady. Heavier weight steers over 800 lbs. were $2-4 lower.
Cold weather still slowed movement of slaughter cows in the storm areas, but overall there was higher total slaughter cow numbers because bigger runs in the warmer areas. Prices were very uneven depending on the weather. There was higher prices in the cold storm areas, but lower prices in many warmer areas.
