Feeder cattle numbers continue their normal fall increase with 37,800 head at the test auctions, which was up over 5,000 head from the previous week. Prices were mostly $1-3 higher on all of the weight groups and the rising fed cattle prices have really helped push yearling feeder cattle prices higher lately.
Additionally, slaughter cow numbers at the auctions continue the normal jump volume. The prices were mostly steady to $2 lower across the entire region, but those auctions that had very big runs were up to $5 lower which caused the bottom end of the price ranges to drop more than the top ends.
