More heavy weight feeder cattle; prices bounce lower

As more heavy weight feeder cattle came to town, prices dropped $5-7 lower this week.

Feeder cattle numbers at the test auctions were very similar to last week and last year with 32,600 head. Yearling prices were mostly $5-7 lower with very big numbers of heavy weights. Lighter weight stocker type cattle were steady to $4 lower.

Slaughter cow numbers at the test auctions continued to be very similar to the previous week and the prices creeped $1-3 higher. However there was just a couple of auctions that backed up just a little, mostly because they were much higher last week.
