There has been a normal summer drop in feeder cattle volume with 26,500 head at the test auctions. This was down about 11,000 head from last week, but higher than last year. Prices were topping out or dropping lower on most days except Wednesday when they improved some.
The slaughter cow numbers continue to be a little higher for this time of the year when many cows are typically out on pastures. Prices took a very big dip lower and were mostly $4-7 lower this week.
