Slaughter cow prices were mostly $1-3 lower, but a few auctions were steady. In addition, cow meat prices continue to drop lower.

Test auction volume was higher again, with 35,000 head, 6,000 higher than the previous week. Prices were steady to $7 higher with the biggest increases on cattle that were lower last week, which were the heifers. 

Slaughter cow volume is starting to trend lower which is normal now when cows are out on pastures. There was 5,300 head at the test auctions which was down about 2,000 head from the previous week. Prices were mostly $1-3 lower, but a few auctions were steady. In addition, cow meat prices continue to drop lower.
