Cold weather may have slowed down slaughter cow movement in some parts of the country, but it didn't stop feeder cattle from coming to town. Prices for feeder cattle stayed close to either side of steady.
It's a headline that all cattle producers want to see. Even though feeder cattle receipts were higher, prices jumped up as well. Unfortunately, on the slaughter cow side, that volume wasn't sustained, pushing prices easily $3-6 higher.
