Running on the Power of Protein in Boston

Twelve runners will wear "Fueled for the Finish" BEEF jerseys at this year's Boston Marathon, Monday, April 19.

The National Beef Ambassadors are teaming up with the beef checkoff, through the Northeast Beef Promotion Initiative (NEBPI), to inform Boston Marathon runners and spectators about the protein power found in lean beef.

At the 2010 John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo Boston Marathon April 16-19, Ambassadors will be on hand to extend the message about research that shows incorporating high-quality protein into the diet throughout the day can help in maintaining a healthy weight, building muscle and fueling physical activity.

“Zinc, Iron, and Protein are key to living a healthy and active life and beef is the tastiest way to get ZIP,” says Mandy-Jo Laurent, National Beef Ambassador from Texas. “As farmers and ranchers, we are proud to grow a safe, wholesome, nutritious product that can fuel today's athletes.”
