The Sierra 1500 full-size line offers three EcoTec3 engines, and a fully updated cabin with next-generation IntelliLink connectivity. The new 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 powertrains deliver more power, torque and fuel efficiency.
Each engine features standard direct injection, continuously variable valve timing, and active fuel management to seamlessly switch to four cylinders during light-load driving. The 4.3-liter V6 engine offers 305 lb.-ft. of torque and a trailering rating of 7,600 lbs. for a regular cab, short bed, four-wheel-drive model. The standard V6 produces 285 hp and is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission to achieve 24 mpg (highway) and 18 mpg (city). Sierra V6 4x4 models are rated at 22 and 17 mpg, respectively. The 5.3-liter EcoTec3 is SAE-certified at 355 hp, 383 lb.-ft. of torque and 23 mpg (highway).
The 6.2-liter V8 is available in Sierra SLT and Denali models, and is rated at 420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque . It boasts a 12,000-lb. towing capacity and mpg estimates of 15 in the city and 21 on the highway (two-wheel-drive).
