EASTERN BLACK NIGHTSHADE: Summer annual with an erect stem up to 3 feet tall with few hairs. Will produce a glossy black berry. Control: Timely mowing before seeds spread. A combination of 2, 4-D and dicamba is effective in grass pasture and hay; 2,4-DB or Pursuit provide suppression in legumes; glyphosate is recommended for concentrated growth control. It is toxic either fresh or dried in hay.
