South Dakota Dairy Queens Raise $40,888 For Rancher Relief Fund

Craig and Tara Knapp of the Belle Fourche Dairy Queen were among the promoters of a statewide fundraiser for the Rancher Relief Fund.

Each of the state's DQ restaurants operating in November quickly joined in the program: The 34 restaurants donated at least $1 from every burger sold for the Rancher Relief Fund administered by the Black Hills Area Community Foundation.

The Knapps made the official presentation of $40,888 on behalf of the restaurants to Silvia Christen, executive director of South Dakota Stockgrowers in Rapid City.

East River restaurants were as quick to join in for support of ranchers hit hard by the early October blizzard as those operating West River.
