One of the largest organic cattle producers in the U.S., Bassett, NE-based Promiseland Livestock, LLC, has been suspended from organic commerce, along with its owner and key employees, for four years. Administrative law judge Peter Davenport issued the certification suspension Nov. 25 against Promiseland, which has facilities in Missouri and Nebraska and manages 22,000 head of beef and dairy cattle.

Administrative law judge Peter Davenport issued the certification suspension Nov. 25 against Promiseland, which has facilities in Missouri and Nebraska and manages 22,000 head of beef and dairy cattle. The firm and its owner Anthony Zeman were penalized for keeping inadequate records and refusing to let inspectors review the records it did have.
