WASHINGTON (March 17, 2011) - Farmers can earn up to $2,500 toward the purchase of a new propane-fueled irrigation engine or lawn mower through the Propane FEED (Farm Equipment Efficiency Demonstration) program.
Sponsored by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the Propane FEED program provides a financial incentive to qualifying farmers who buy select pieces of equipment and agree to share their experiences with their peers.
“The great feedback we received from last year’s participants supplied us with a far better understanding of how farmers are using propane to irrigate their crops and maintain their green spaces,” said PERC Director of Agriculture Programs Mark Leitman.
Of those participants who purchased propane mowers, a majority of users said they were already seeing cost savings with the new propane equipment. And 100 percent of farmers reported that their perception of propane improved or remained the same.

A qualifying producer may receive incentives to buy more than one product, but only one unit in each equipment category will be eligible for an incentive, and only new equipment is eligible for the program.
