Animal ID fact sheet

Check out the latest stocker management fact sheet at www.beefstockerusa.org. Entitled “Management Drives ID Decisions," it's available in the “Fact Sheets” section at the top of the opening page.

This “how-to” on animal ID details the procedure for identifying your operation's needs, understanding the components and arriving at a cost-effective system for your needs.

Checkoff programs lauded

Two beef checkoff-funded projects recently were cited as tops in the nation in national competition.

The Beefmobile (www.beefmobile.com), a traveling beef-promotion exhibit, was named by the National Agri-Marketing Association as the top producer-funded public relations program in the U.S. The National Livestock Producers Association conducts the Beefmobile program (shown at right) on behalf of America's beef producers and the Cattlemen's Beef Board.

Meanwhile, the checkoff-funded “Beef Training Camp Manual” won the International Association of Culinary Professionals' Award of Excellence. The manual, used by retailers to educate meat-case employees about all aspects of beef, was coordinated by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
