Cattle producers will receive timely, cutting edge information at this year’s Kansas State University Beef Stocker Field Day Oct. 1, just like they have for the past two decades. This year, though, the event will be presented virtually, via the Zoom webinar platform; attendance is free.

“Due to increasing concerns about the evolving COVID-19 situation, and standing by our commitment to keep the safety of our participants, volunteers and partners as our top priority, we are transitioning this year's Field Day to an online format,” says Dale Blasi, KSU Animal Sciences and Industry professor and Extension beef specialist. “We will still provide the latest information on marketing, nutrition, health and technology for attendees to apply to their operation, just in a little different format.”

BEEF magazine’s Wes Ishmael will moderate the morning event, which begins at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1 and will conclude around noon. Topics include:

Blasi adds there will be time for attendees to ask questions of the assembled experts. Presenters include Blasi, Glynn Tonsor, KSU agricultural economist and Justin Waggoner, KSU Extension beef specialist.
