The folks at Oklahoma State University are hosting what promises to be an insightful conference Jan. 25, aimed at stocker receiving management. The Stocker Receiving Management Conference will be held at the Chisholm Trail Pavilion at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Enid, OK. Among the topics are:
Stocker health – including the key steps for receiving success, trends in treatment and diagnosis, and innovations from progressive operations. Presented by Dan Thomson, DVM, Kansas State University.
Nutrition management – including a respiratory disease research update. Presented by Clint Krehbiel, Oklahoma State University (OSU).
Receiving nutrition basics for lightweight stocker calves. Presented by KSU’s Thomson.
Impact of implanting on performance of wheat pasture stocker cattle and carcass merit. Presented by Gerald Horn, OSU.
