Denver WESA September market celebrates 25th anniversary

WESA’s 25th September Anniversary Market kicked off with eighty-eight golfers supporting National Little Britches and National High School Rodeo scholarships and ended with a winning night of gambling and fun at the annual Casino Night party.  An opening night Anniversary Party brought Buyers and Exhibitors together on the Pavilion exhibit floor for champagne, hors’ de oeuvres and celebration cupcakes!    All these events were well-attended thanks to WESA’s hard-working Exhibitors who  made phone calls and sent invitations to their Buyers to keep the final  Buyer registration figures  on par with those from the last two September Market.                              

The WESA Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, September 5th at Raccoon Creek Golf Course.  This year the Low Gross team included Scott Piper, Peter Brown, Nick Sarchett and Seth Piper.    The tournament continues raise money for scholarship funding for both NLBRA and NHSRA.

After spending the day working the Market, retailers were invited to attend the Opening Night Cocktail Party in the Pavilion.  Special giveaways were handed out to all attendees along with complimentary food stations, open bar, champagne and gourmet cupcakes to top it off!  Market certificates were drawn at the end of the evening.  Six retailers won a $500 Market Certificate to spend while in Denver.  Winning stores included Big R of Greeley and The Western Shop from Castle Hayne, North Carolina.

Saturday morning opened with complimentary continental breakfast and a business seminar featuring Barbara Wold.  Barbara’s topic, “Strategies for a Changing Retail World,” was well received by retailers and exhibitors alike.

Sunday evening concluded with Casino Night.  Because of the relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to network face to face, this event continues to be a crowd favorite.  Attendees enjoyed complimentary dinner and desserts before partaking in various casino games.  WESA also handed out complimentary t-shirts and special casino goody bags to those in attendance.  Winners were selected by receive gift cards by raffle at the end of the evening.

The Western & English Sales Association’s September Market continues to thrive after 25th years.  In 2014 the September Market will be a three day Market.  Dates are September 5-7 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).  Mark your calendars for this change.  The next WESA Market will be January 10-14, 2014.  For information on attending please call the WESA office at 800-295-1041
