The September Denver Western/English Apparel and Equipment Market welcomed an increase in exhibitors in 2012. Along with a growth in participation, temporary exhibit space surged to a 9% increase as well. Retailers from thirty-eight states and twelve countries shopped the four day Market in Denver.

The WESA Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, September 6 at Raccoon Creek Golf Course. The Tournament boasted its highest number of participants with 99 golfers. Supporters came together to enjoy the beautiful Colorado outdoors and support the future of our Industry. Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $45,000 for National Little Britches Rodeo Association and National High School Rodeo Association. This was the twelfth year of the tournament.

The Market opened Friday morning with complimentary breakfast served in the Mart Terrace Gardens. The day ended with a cocktail party in the Pavilion Building among the temporary booths. This first-time event was well received by retailers and exhibitors alike. Attendees enjoyed four different food stations spread throughout the exhibit hall along with an open bar. The evening concluded with WESA’s annual drawing for Market certificates. $3,000 in Market certificates were given away by raffle. Among the winners were stores from Switzerland, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Missouri and Wyoming.

Saturday morning opened with complimentary breakfast and a business seminar featuring Linda Talley, an expert on body language. Talley educated the audience on the importance of reading their customer’s body language to learn more about them. The information gained at the seminar proved valuable for manufacturers, sales reps and retailers alike.

Sunday evening concluded with Casino night. Because of the relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to network face to face, this event continues to gain popularity each year. Attendees enjoyed complimentary dinner and desserts before partaking in various casino games. Winners were selected to receive gift cards by raffle at the end of the evening.

The Western & English Sales Association’s September Market welcomes more than 1,700 people each year. WESA will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the September Market in 2013.
