First Saturday Lime

First Saturday Lime took hydrated lime (the strong stuff) and made it insoluble so that it doesn’t react with moisture, whether on skin or in water. This means FSL is far stronger than quarry lime, or “barn lime,” but is safe and not caustic, like hydrated lime.

Named as a reminder to apply it once a month, the product has multiple uses around the ranch and home. Used as pest control, FSL dries out insects, as well as their eggs and larvae. It can be used in almost any animal stall to help sanitize, neutralize and deodorize. Put in water troughs, it reduces and prevents algae. It kills and repels mosquitoes from breeding. When used in water, it’s nontoxic and safe to drink. FSL can also be used in ponds to correct the pH of water.
