Meat Market Update | Weekly average cutout drops $3

As we move closer to Labor Day, we have increased sales to look forward to which should improve prices.

The weekly average Choice cutout dropped $3.09 but was very close to the Friday spot Choice cutout, which had only dropped 69 cents for the week after several days of small increases. As we move closer to Labor Day, we have increased sales to look forward to which should improve prices. The export volume increased quite a bit getting close to 1,000 loads which was very important when you consider the estimated increase in FIS cattle harvest numbers compared to last year.
