Sip no more, my friends. Yellow Tail Wine recently donated $100,000 to the Humane Society of the U.S. Whether or not you have tried their wine selections before, this company is teaming up with HSUS in a "Tail for Tails" campaign, and there is a group of folks already taking action through online resources. Typically, when I hear news like this, I tell myself to never give a dime to that company again. As a result, I have a long list of restaurants, brands and entertainers I won't support: North Face, Sonic, Chipotle, Jack in the Box, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Brad Pitt, and the list goes on. Today, I have added Yellow Tail, but simply turning my back on this company isn't going to cut it anymore. It's time for all of us to take action and tell Yellow Tail what we think. This is a great opportunity to slow HSUS in its tracks.
From HSUS: So much of what The HSUS does every day involves confronting cruelty to animals. But a significant part of our mission is also to encourage people to celebrate the animals in their lives. And who knows more about celebration than a company that makes great wine? That's why the HSUS has paired with [yellow tail] for the "tails for tails" program. Through the end of March, you'll see special [yellow tail] displays bearing The HSUS name and logo in stores across the country.
So, here is what I need all of you to do. First, become a fan of Yellow Tail on Facebook. Next, write a message on their wall about your disapproval of their partnership with HSUS. That's all you need to do. Already, a huge number of farmers and ranchers have shared this message with Yellow Tail, and the company quickly responded with this, "Hi all, lots of conversation here today – we’re listening. Check back soon, as we’ll be announcing news shortly on our Tails for Tails program."
They are paying attention, folks! It will be interesting to see what they do next as a result of this massive response from agriculture standing up against their partnership with HSUS, an organization with a main mission to abolish meat, dairy and eggs from the American diet, while putting farmers and ranchers out of business. Stay tuned for further updates.
