Chaney twins release ninth children’s book
Keep an eye on this dynamic duo as they promote agricultural literacy through an educational series of children’s books!

In recent weeks, I’ve shared my love of youth in agriculture programs like 4-H and FFA, and I’ve divulged some strategies for young people to implement as they compete in leadership activities through these organizations.
In case you missed these blog posts, you can view them here:
While my own kids are too young to begin their own FFA and 4-H careers, and my days in these organizations are history, I have enjoyed mentoring some local students as they compete in contests such as FFA’s Job Interview and Ag Issues.
Win or lose, it’s so rewarding to coach the next generation of agricultural leaders, and I wish I had more time for it. However, if I can boast for just a moment — the kids I coached on the local Ag Issues team (their topic was fake meats) just won state and are headed to the National FFA Convention in the fall! Way to go, Sanborn Central!
Anyway, it’s always exciting to see young people find their niche and begin pursuing their career dreams and aspirations even in high school.
A great example of young people doing exactly that are the Chaney twins of Elwood, Neb.
Rianna and Sheridan Chaney are FFA members who have an interesting FFA project that likely stands out from the rest. These high school girls recently released their ninth (yes, you read that right) children’s book, and they are passionate about promoting agricultural literacy by sharing their real-life stories of living on a ranch.
Their most recent book is titled, “Better Together…Digging It with Dairy & Beef, Building Healthy Bodies & Brains.” This book focuses on the importance of incorporating dairy and beef products into their diets.
Previous books feature the girls as young children living on their farm in Vermont. With the help of their mother, Rebecca, readers can watch these two entrepreneurs and authors grow up in agriculture and learn important lessons along the way.
Their entire collection of books, which includes titles such as “Cowgirl Up! Let’s Go Ranching” and “It’s All About Beef!” young readers will certainly learn about animal agriculture and where their meat and dairy comes from.
With real-life photography, personal stories and the unique vantage point of kids telling the tale, the Chaney twins have a wonderful collection of stories that I think farm and non-farm kids alike will enjoy!
I’m very proud of this dynamic duo for all they have accomplished in their lives so far, and I’m confident they will continue to do great things in the future! The Chaney twins are outstanding FFA members and leaders in the agricultural industry, and considering I only have two published books of my own compared to their nine, I guess I better get to work!
