There was another good run of feeder cattle at sale barns this week, though it was a little smaller than last week's very big run. The prices were bouncing around with some lower and some higher. In fact, heavier weight yearling feeders that have a chance to be finished prior to June were higher priced and the lighter weights were lower priced.
Slaughter cow numbers continue to increase with 11,300 head at the test auctions. Prices were mostly $2-4 higher on the heels of the big jump in the cow meat prices lately.
