President Bush Attends Convention

President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush joined more than 5,000 beef producers at a special industry forum on Friday at the Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Denver. Bush is the first standing president to address cattlemen at the national convention in the 104-year history of the national association.

USDA Secretary Ann Veneman and a congressional entourage joined the president and first lady.

The president told America's ranchers and farmers that are the best in the world at what they do, and he called on Congress to pass a $73.5 billion federal farm bill.
