Part 1
Mike Pearson is at the desk this week and starts off with a conversation with Mike Seyfert, CEO, National Grain and Feed Assoc. about big problems with rail transportation and other distribution disruptions. Mike interviews Tommy Grisafi of Advance Trading to discuss the USDA report on prospective planting report that showed more soybeans than corn this year. Grisafi also offers advice on how to plan to market your grain with so much uncertainty.
Part 2
Tommy Grisafi of Advance Trading rejoins Mike to talk next about the other USDA report on grain stocks. Next up they talk energy markets and cattle. In the Colby Ag Tech segment Chad Colby looks at the latest in heavy construction equipment.
Part 3
Mike introduces a report from Max Armstrong on a rural broadband infrastructure effort from Microsoft, he speaks with the tech giant’s Mary Snapp. Greg Soulje joins Mike to talk about the ongoing drought in the Western U.S.

Mike’s back and hears from Max again, this time he’s talking to Polly Ruhland, United Soybean Board, about the future for soybeans in the U.S.. Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje joins the show the weekly weather forecast.

In Max’s Tractor Shed, Max introduces a 1918 Toro TO-RO that comes from a soldier coming home from WW1. Hear the story behind the TO-RO name. In the FFA Chapter Tribute Mike Pearson chats with Hadley Stiefvater, South Dakota State FFA Secretary, at the end of her year of service. She started just wanting to show sheep and it’s turned into a much broader learning experience. In Samuelson Sez, Orion Samuelson is celebrating a long-time-coming court decision in favor of the pork industry against California’s Prop 12.

Mike wraps up the show talking with Greg Pumo of Fendt North America discussing a new sprayer from the manufacturer that brings “dual-position clearance” to the applicator game.
