Part 1

Mike Pearson is at the desk this week and we start off with a discussion with Ginger Rowsey, Senior Writer with Farm Progress about the low-water level struggles on the Mississippi River. Next, Mike talks markets with Naomi Blohm of Total Farm Marketing, to continue the discussion of low river levels and the challenges with basis markets. Next, there’s good news on soybean sales to China and exports with bean meal and oil. The corn export market however, is struggling with the high dollar, but other factors are promising. Next, ethanol is looking good as the job economy stays strong.

Part 2

Naomi Blohm of Total Farm Marketing turn to the wheat market and up and down trends that are mostly good. The protein markets are still reacting to last week’s USDA report and demand stays strong thanks to the good job market. Dairy prices, especially butter, are riding high as well. In the Colby Ag Tech segment Chad Colby is discussing lawnmower wheel, or “tweel” technology

Max joins the show for an interview with Brad Doyle of the American Soybean Association, he discusses a harvest report first, and then they discuss the seed market, low river levels, governmental affairs, and more.

Mike introduces the latest Plan Smart Grow Smart segment from BASF. Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje looks at the weather for the week ahead.

Part 6

In Max’s Tractor Shed, Max introduces a corn chopper from Bob Johnson who is working on a book on this tool. In the FFA Chapter Tribute Mike talks with Sydney Bender, former Wisconsin State FFA VP. She’s a little sad to be missing this week’s FFA National Convention. She loved the convention during her time in the organization. In the future she plans to give back to the organization as an educator.

Mike wraps up the show discussing the weather in depth with meteorologist Greg Soulje.
